- Multitech is not interested in seeking Win10 certification for their device. I'm guessing that if you switch off checking for digital signatures it will work again. I have not tried it but it is most likely the case as device is recognized as usb-cdc device (does not require additional binaries as it is serviced by usbser.sys driver).
- 3) Now update the driver by going to Device Manager-Ports-USB Serial Device-Properties-Driver-Update Driver-Browse Computer, select the UNZIPPED driver folder for your model, and install the drivers. After successful driver installation, Windows will re-enumerate the modem and it will show up in Device Manager-Modems rather than.

Drivers Modem Multitech Mt9234zba-usb
The following analog USB modems are NOT compatible with Windows 10:
--> MT9234MU (replaced by MT9234MU-CDC-XR)
--> MT9234ZBA-USB (replaced by MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC-XR)
The following analog USB modems ARE compatible with Windows 10:
--> MT9234MU-CDC (replaced by MT9234MU-CDC-XR)
--> MT9234MU-CDC-XR (current, shipping model)
--> MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC (replaced by MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC-XR)
--> MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC-XR (current, shipping model)
The MT9234MU-CDC, MT9234MU-CDC-XR, MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC, and MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC-XR should show up in the following location when first plugged in (without drivers installed):
--> Device Manager-->Ports-->USB Serial Device
If there are several 'USB Serial Device' items in Device Manager and you are not sure which one is MultiTech's modem, then you will need to determine examine the device's properties. To do so, get Properties on the 'USB Serial Device' and then check Details-->Hardware IDs. MultiTech's Vendor ID (VID) is 06E0. The Product ID (PID) varies based on the model.
Install the necessary drivers for the CDC or CDC-XR models by doing the following:
1) Download the appropriate driver for the modem model you have (see the following product pages):
--> MT9234MU-CDC = ftp://ftp.multitech.com/modeminfs/MT9234MU_CDC_A.zip
--> MT9234MU-CDC-XR = http://www.multitech.com/models/93537298LF
--> MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC = ftp://ftp.multitech.com/modeminfs/MT9234ZBA_USB_CDC_A.ZIP
--> MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC-XR = http://www.multitech.com/models/93537163LF
2) UN-ZIP the driver download. At this time in the life cycle of Windows 10 (and back through previous versions of Windows), you cannot successfully install the drivers if they are not unzipped even though in Windows Explorer it appears like the zip file can be opened just like any other folder.
3) Now update the driver by going to Device Manager-->Ports-->USB Serial Device-->Properties-->Driver-->Update Driver-->Browse Computer, select the UNZIPPED driver folder for your model, and install the drivers.
After successful driver installation, Windows will re-enumerate the modem and it will show up in Device Manager-->Modems rather than Ports. For example, in Device Manager, the MT9234MU-CDC-XR shows up as 'MultiMobile MT9234MU CDC-ACM-XR' and the MT9234MU-CDC shows up as 'MultiMobile MT9234MU CDC-ACM'.
